Facilitator

Brenda Plowman has 25 years of experience in global marketing, strategic planning, and business development. Most recently, she spent nearly two decades at one of Canada’s largest law firms, including nine years as its Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer. During her time there, she redefined the firm’s practice and industry structure, spearheaded two major brand refreshes, and built its first-ever client service excellence program.

During this period, she skillfully managed the complexity of over 50 practice, industry, and regional strategies, as well as the overarching brand and positioning. The firm’s brand continued to rise, securing a leading industry position for both the firm and its practitioners. A key element of her strategy was aligning with other tier-one business partnerships and building individual lawyer brands.

Brenda is also an entrepreneur, having launched a growing flower farm in 2024. In addition, she started an advisory services consultancy, helping professional services firms establish a comprehensive approach to client service. With clients demanding more from their firms, and loyalty no longer being sufficient, she emphasizes that building an exceptional service experience is essential for firms and professionals to stand out. Her services include delivering keynote presentations and developing client listening and client team programs in collaboration with firms.

An inspiring leader, Brenda has championed the continuous evolution of the teams she has led, always working towards achieving a shared vision and objectives. She is adept at understanding the diverse backgrounds and needs of team members, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring that collective efforts lead to impactful results for the organization.

Brenda is committed to community service, having served in various capacities within local, provincial, and national Chambers of Commerce. In 2022, she held the position of President of the International Legal Marketing Association and served on its Board for six years.
